Volunteer Opportunities

Parent involvement is a core value of KHMS, and each family is highly encouraged to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours during the school year to further show engagement in the education of their student. There are a number of ways you can volunteer and demonstrate your commitment. Parent volunteer service hours are earned by directly supporting the school and by supporting your child academically.

Parents must have passed a TB test within the last five years. Please bring your verification to KHMS.

Every time you volunteer at the school please make sure to log your hours in the Parent Volunteer Binder in the front office. The school will monitor the number of volunteer hours each family has accumulated.

The person of contact for volunteer hours is our school liaison Mrs. Ceja [email protected] or (323) 484-0450

Possible volunteer activities to support the school include:

  • Office Support
  • Fundraising Activities
  • Nutrition or Lunch Supervision
  • Field Trip assistance
  • Arrival and Dismissal Supervision
  • Making Phone Calls
  • Recruiting
  • Parent Workshop participation
  • Classroom observations
  • Tutoring Support
  • Parent Mentoring
  • Developing a School Newsletter
  • Setting Up for meetings
  •
We are looking forward to working with you as you volunteer with the Alliance family!

Failure of a parent to meet volunteer hours or to participate in Charter School’s programs will have no effect on a student’s enrollment, grades, credits or ability to graduate
